Emilio Dorame-Martinez
Associate
Mr. Dorame-Martinez is a second-generation trial lawyer, raised in a family deeply committed to the practice of law and the pursuit of justice. His father was a prominent criminal defense attorney, and his mother devoted her career to advocating for the rights of the poor and underprivileged. From an early age, Mr. Dorame-Martinez was immersed in the legal world—accompanying his father to court as young as four years old and observing firsthand the craft of trial advocacy.
As he grew up in the family practice, Mr. Dorame-Martinez was mentored closely by his father, Marty Martinez, who instilled in him the fundamentals of courtroom strategy, client advocacy, and the art of trying cases. Emilio attended the University of California, Santa Barbara, and later Golden Gate University School of Law, all while continuing to work at his father’s firm and develop practical litigation experience.
In 2020, shortly after Emilio graduated from law school, tragedy struck when his father passed away in the midst of defending a wrongfully accused client in a murder trial. In the face of this loss, Emilio assumed responsibility for the Martinez Law Office, carrying forward his father’s legacy and building for the next generation of his family. While practicing under the Martinez Law Office, Emilio handled a broad range of matters, including criminal defense, plaintiff’s civil litigation, and immigration, gaining extensive courtroom experience. During this time, Mr. Martinez tried numerous cases, advocated before the Court of Appeal, and developed a reputation for tenacity and dedication to his clients.
In 2024, Emilio closed the Martinez Law Office and transitioned to Civil defense; where he found a home at Bertrand, Fox, Elliot & Osman. It is here that he continues to apply his diverse personal and litigation background and trial experience on behalf of his clients.
