Justine Magowan
Associate
Justine Magowan joined Betrand, Fox, Elliot, Osman & Wenzel as an associate 2025. Prior to joining the firm, she worked as an associate at a small plaintiff’s firm in San Francisco.
Ms. Magowan graduated from Tulane University in 2015, where she earned BAs in English Literature and Theatre Performance, graduating cum laude. Before attending law school, she worked in publicity at Penguin Random House in New York City. She attended UC Law San Francisco (formerly, UC Hastings), where she completed her Juris Doctor degree in 2024, also graduating cum laude.
While in law school, Ms. Magowan served as Executive Articles Editor for the flagship UC Law Journal, which published her Note, “It’s Like I’ve Got This Music in My Mind: Protecting Human Authorship in the Age of Generative Artificial Intelligence” in Volume 75, Issue 1. She also worked as a Research Assistant for Chancellor & Dean David Faigman, earned several prestigious academic awards for her law school classes, and competed with the Negotiation & Dispute Resolution Team, which she now supports as an alumni coach.
Ms. Magowan has been active member of the State Bar of California since 2024.
