Lauren E. Wood

Lauren Wood joined Bertrand, Fox, Elliot, Osman & Wenzel as Senior Counsel in March 2021. Her practice is devoted to public entity defense, business litigation and breach of contract, employment (wage and hour), class action defense, construction litigation, environmental litigation, and appeals.

 

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Wood worked at a Bay Area litigation boutique as a senior attorney representing corporate, individual, non-profit, and public entity clients in complex business litigation, including breach of contract, products liability, consumer class action defense, environmental, construction, and employment matters. During this time, she represented a major Bay Area transit agency, successfully defending a $26 million breach of contract claim following a month-long jury trial in Alameda County Superior Court.

 

In 2004, Ms. Wood graduated magna cum laude from Augsburg University with BA in Political Science and Spanish. She earned her Juris Doctor magna cum laude from University of Minnesota Law School in 2008. During law school, Ms. Wood acted as Student Director of the Workers’ Rights Clinic, participated in Civil Rights Moot Court, and completed an Internship with the Advocates for Human Rights in Minneapolis, MN. In addition, she studied abroad at ESADE Ramon Llull University in Barcelona, Spain, where she completed all coursework in Spanish.

 

Ms. Wood was admitted to the Minnesota State Bar in 2008 and the California State Bar in 2011, and she is admitted to practice in the Northern, Central, Eastern, and Southern Districts of California; the First District California Court of Appeals; and the District of Minnesota. She’s an active member of the Alameda County Bar Association and the Women Lawyers of Alameda County.
