Steven Egler

Steven Egler joined Bertrand, Fox, Elliot, Osman & Wenzel as senior counsel in September 2021. His practice focuses on defense of public entities in cases involving personal injury and dangerous conditions of public property claims. 

 

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Egler practiced general civil litigation and public entity defense at a Bay Area firm where he represented Bay Area cities and counties. In 2020, Mr. Egler obtained a defense verdict on behalf of a Bay Area city in a dangerous conditions of public property claim following a jury trial in Alameda County Superior Court. In 2019, he obtained a defense verdict following a jury trial in a landlord-tenant claim on behalf of landlord owners, one of whom was an elected office holder in a Bay Area city. Prior to civil practice, Mr. Egler prosecuted attorney misconduct claims on behalf of the State Bar of California and successfully tried multiple bench cases at the State Bar Court. 

 

Mr. Egler earned a BA in Political Science at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C. In 2003, Mr. Egler was admitted to the California State Bar, and he is admitted to practice in the Northern and Eastern Districts of California.
