Asha Jameson joined Bertrand, Fox, Elliot, Osman & Wenzel in 2022 as senior counsel. Her practice concentrates on the defense of a variety of public entities, with a focus on civil rights violations and police departments, in both state and federal courts.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Jameson spent more than eleven years as a criminal prosecutor for the City and County of San Francisco, where she first-chaired over thirty-five trials to verdict. Additionally, Ms. Jameson worked as a Deputy Attorney General for the California Attorney General’s Office, where she defended the State of California in a variety of cases involving civil rights, excessive force, failure to protect, and tort violations. She has extensive law and motion experience in state and federal court.
In 2002, Ms. Jameson earned a BA in Psychology with an emphasis in conflict resolution from San Francisco State University. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of California Hastings College of the Law, graduating cum laude in 2009. While in law school, she served as a legal intern at IODA, Inc., where she drafted and edited music licensing and distribution contracts. In addition she worked as a certified law clerk for the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office in the high-tech crimes, domestic violence, and gang units. During law school, Ms. Jameson received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award and the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence in Trial Advocacy, as well as the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence in Negotiations and Settlement.
Ms. Jameson has presented on a wide variety of criminal justice panels throughout the Bay Area on topics including bail reform, community policing, and violent crime abatement. She was an active member of the Community Police Advisory Board for the San Francisco Police Department from 2016 until 2020.
Since 2010, Ms. Jameson has been an active member of the State Bar of California, and she is admitted to the Federal District Court for the Northern, Eastern, and Southern Districts of California.
